After failing to promote world peace or stop world hunger but successfully squandering billions of American dollars, the United Nations is now setting its sights on worldwide traffic safety.
The U.N. is kicking off something it is calling a "Decade of Action for Road Safety" which aims to "stabilize and then reduce global road deaths by 2020". Claiming that every six seconds someone is killed or seriously injured on the world's roads, The United Nations has created The Road Safety Fund which like most U.N. programs has a simple mission: throw money at the problem and make everyone feel better.
