Sports Car Illustrated is the creation of Managing Editor Gary Becker.
A long time motor sports fan and former SCCA amateur racer, Gary’s love of sports cars and auto racing was one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Sports Car Illustrated. A love of writing that first manifested itself in a political based website and grew into a popular column in two Florida newspapers made for the perfect match to start a new on-line automotive magazine.
Picking up the Sports Car Illustrated banner that had been cast aside by a larger automotive publishing concern, Gary began a new type of on-line automotive publication on January 1st, 2009. A publication for the fan and by the fan has grown from an on-line newsletter about the Florida automotive scene to an daily updated international website recognized by major manufactures, motor sports sanctioning bodies and racing facilities.
Gary writes his race reports and industry news stories with the same cutting edge combined with a comic twist that made his political columns so popular. As he did with his printed columns, Gary is building a loyal following that enjoy a smile while discovering a new point of view.
