Want to impress the neighbor kid and get noticed by local law enforcement? Reynard, the Indy 500 winning race car constructor, has announced that their 2010 Inverter has passed the UK's IVA road test and is now available for sale in the United Kingdom road car, track-day car, or dedicated race car.Reynard Inverter

The two seat opened cockpit car was developed by Andre Brown in a F1 spec wind tunnel to give up to 1200kg of down force giving the 440kg Inverter the ability to obtain sustained cornering of over 3g’s.

Prices start at around $55,000 for a track ready car including 180bhp Fireblade engine. Both right hand and left hand drive are available in both turnkey and kit form. Initial cars will be made available as rolling chassis and body.

The body is comes in Carbon Fiber or Glass Fiber apparently depending how much you want to spend and is attached to a stainless steel composite chassis with either Avon F3 13 inch or Toyo 16 inch tires. An FIA regulation chassis is available no doubt as an expensive option. Those big

tires are attached to a suspension of TIG welded CDS wishbones and Nitron NTR single adjustable shocks.

A six point harnesses will help you avoid those no seatbelt tickets and an aluminum honeycomb panel front cashbox and 1" side impact panels with a collapsible steering column will help you survive crashing into the back of Aunt Martha’s Buick while racing down Elm Street on a Sunday morning.

To help you slow down before making contact with the Buick, the Inverter has Alcon 2 piston front brakes and rear - billet machined brakes with integral handbrake caliper.

Inside is all race car with a Farringdon Dash/steering wheel, Tillett Seats, Tilton Pedals and Pingel Electronic Gear change.

Options include Geartronics pneumatic paddle change, AIM steering wheel & logger and DC Electronics raychem wiring loom.
