Carpenter wins Indy 500 pole while nobody is watching

In front of a handful of faithful fans in the stands and thousands of frustrated fans at home who were watching a horse being given a trophy instead of auto racing, team owner/driver Ed Carpenter took the pole position for the 97th Indianapolis 500.
